Escape room

“You just want to keep on reading.”

Summary

The four friends Mint, Sky, Alissa and Milas decide to all participate in an escape room. They are welcomed by Cleo in the escape room. The friends are given 60 minutes to solve the problems and to try to escape from the escape room. At first, the escape room looks like a nice and fun game, but later it appears that someone has locked them up and that they want to make them pay for earlier times.

Review

You read this book from the four main characters and the character X. The character X is the one who is torturing the four friends. Because in the book the characters change, you get to know each character well.

I did think that there were actually too many character switches in this book. Because of this I sometimes forgot from what perspective I was reading.

When the friends enter the escape room, all of the problems are solved very quickly. This makes the story less realistic. I also thought it was a pity that you discovered the identity of X very quickly. This made the ending a little less exciting.

Maren Stoffels her writing style is written very smoothly. This allows you to quickly read through the book. Almost every chapter ends with a cliffhanger, so this makes you also want to read the book faster.

Conclusion

A nice book to read with a good ending. Each chapter invites you to read faster.
